Hosted by the Max Planck Institute for Plasma Physics, the 2025 annual workshop of the ISP is about pulsed power technology and its applications. The topic is intentionally kept very open and is open for all possible applications around the topic of pulsed power.

This workshop is intended to regularly provide the possibility of networking within the pulsed power community and to support the scientific / technical exchange between science, industry and students. The frame of the workshop shall provide a more intimate opportunity for social and technical interaction than a large conference. The organizational and, thus, the cost are kept at a minimum. The workshop is accompanied by a visit of the ASDEX Upgrade divertor tokamak and the annual member meeting of the ISP.

The overall goal of the ASDEX Upgrade Programme is to establish the scientific basis for the optimisation of the tokamak approach to fusion energy and especially to prepare the next steps: ITER and DEMO. The topics Fusion and Pulsed Power are close to each other and have many overlaps. Therefore, it is a great pleasure and honor for the ISP that the Max Planck Institute of Plasma Physics has offered to host this workshop and the member meeting.

Registration

Registration can be done via a ticketing platform eventfrog. The registration fees of 100€ include the costs of the dinner, the coffee breaks and the lunch on day 1. ISP members only pay a reduced fee of 60 €. Registration is possible until January 31, 2025. Unfortunately, the number of participants is limited. Therefore we recommend prompt registration. A processing fee of 8 € is substracted from the registration fee in case of a cancellation.

Hotel

Accommodation is basically the responsibility of the participants. ISP has reserved a contingent of rooms at «Flemings Hotel München» and «Hotel Hoyacker Hof».Both Hotels are located along the metro line U6 connecting the Max Planck Institute for Plasma Physics in Garching with the city center of Munich. Please refer to «ISP workshop 2025» while booking. A credit card is required for the reservation.

Many more hotels are available in Munich. Please use the relevant booking platforms. The Courtyard Garching and the Stellaris Aparthotel are located directly next to the Max Planck Institute for Plasma Physics in Garching.
